Residents of the city of Gerkê Legê affirmed that the constitutional recognition of Kurdish rights constitutes a genuine guarantee for achieving justice and equality among Syria’s various components, stressing that these rights must be clearly and practically reflected in the Syrian constitution. On 16 June each year, Assyrians, Syriacs, and Chaldeans around the world commemorate the victims of the Sayfo Genocide, perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire, one of the bloodiest chapters in history that remains unresolved and still awaits justice and official recognition.
