"Freedom for Warisha Moradi" campaign warns of her health deterioration, demands her release

In a statement released by the campaign, it was reported that several political prisoners, especially women, were recently transferred to Qarchak Prison, located southeast of the capital Tehran, following an attack that targeted the entrance of Evin Prison. This transfer has led to a significant deterioration in their humanitarian and health conditions, according to the ROJ News Agency.

The statement noted a sharp decline in the situation of female prisoners in Qarchak Prison, particularly in terms of access to medical care. It confirmed that Warisha Moradi, who has been sentenced to life imprisonment, is being completely denied treatment, placing her life at serious risk.

The campaign concluded its statement by calling for the urgent and adequate provision of healthcare to all political prisoners, and the immediate and unconditional release of Warisha Moradi, along with her transfer to a hospital outside the prison to receive the necessary treatment.

Moradi was arrested in the city of Sineh, Eastern Kurdistan, on August 1, 2023. After two weeks of interrogation by the intelligence services, she was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison. During this period, she was subjected to pressure and torture to extract forced confessions. After five months, she was moved to the women's ward in Evin Prison in Tehran
