Fighters: We will protect all components, foil sedition plots

Rojava has witnessed military and political escalation amid attacks and incitement attempts aimed at destabilizing the region and undermining coexistence among its components. In this context, YPG fighters and YPJ fighters stressed their continued role in protecting civilians and defending the freedom and shared life of the region’s communities.

Defending freedom and the brotherhood of peoples

YPJ fighter Akin Shiar, stationed on the Tal Baroud front in the city of Hasakah, stated that the resistance they are waging today is for the sake of freedom and the brotherhood of peoples. She noted that their struggle is grounded in the thought and philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan, which calls for a democratic society and women’s freedom, pointing out that their areas are facing both political and military war simultaneously.

Akin explained that this war aims to influence society by imposing capitalist system ideologies, stressing the necessity of protecting all components of the region until the end. She highlighted that Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, and other components have coexisted together for many years.

She further clarified that the goal behind the attacks and incitement against the region is to divide its components and break the will of the people, affirming that the Women’s Protection Units and People’s Protection Units will not allow sedition to be created, nor civilians to be harmed, nor their areas to be occupied or extremist ideologies imposed upon them.

Akin Shiar also reaffirmed adherence to leader Abdullah Ocalan’s philosophy on democratic society and the brotherhood of peoples, noting that many sons and daughters of all components have been martyred for this freedom.

Commitment to continued protection

For his part, YPG fighter Gorilla Erish, positioned on the Hasakah front, said their presence today is to protect the freedom of the region’s peoples from darkness and oppression, and to continue the philosophy of the brotherhood of peoples and coexistence advocated by leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Erish confirmed that YPG and YPJ fighters will continue to protect the region’s components until the end.

An unbreakable will to resist

Meanwhile, YPJ fighter Hezel Jiager stated that they have been resisting with strong determination since the beginning of the attacks to protect the region and its peoples, affirming that they will continue on this path regardless of difficulties.

She concluded by saying that media attacks will not weaken them, but will instead increase their strength and determination to protect the region, stressing the continuation of implementing the ideology of the brotherhood of peoples and safeguarding all components.
