Local sources in Iran reported that the fate of 25 women who took part in protests across Iran and Eastern Kurdistan is still unknown following their arrest by Iranian authorities, raising increasing concerns for their safety.

According to the sources, the detained women are from various provinces, including Sanandaj, Razavi Khorasan, Tehran, Isfahan, Karaj, Qazvin, and Fars. The names released include Nivin Zari, Farzana Ramazani, Madina Motahari, Zahra Foroukhi, Setareh Shariati, Fatemeh Afshari, Vida Azadora, and Nahed Pourzoi.

It is worth noting that the wave of widespread protests began on December 28, 2025, triggered by economic, political, and social crises. The protests resulted in deaths and the arrest of thousands of people across different regions.
