Farzanda Munther: we will send messages for leader's freedom to several parties

 Farzanda Munther, a member of the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, spoke to ANHA agency about the health of leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali prison and his physical freedom.

Munther emphasized that the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan is essential at this stage for several reasons. He added, "In order for the leader to be able to lead the current phase and achieve a solution to the Kurdish issue, he must be free. He should be able to conduct unconditional dialogues with the people, his comrades, public opinion, and Turkish officials with complete ease." The second reason, according to Munther, is that the leader has completed 27 years in prison and is now entering his 28th year of detention.

He continued, "He has lived all these years under harsh conditions, and the leader is now 77 years old. His condition is deteriorating day by day, and this is the second time he has undergone eye surgery."

Regarding the health of leader Abdullah Ocalan, Munther added, "The climatic conditions in Imrali are well-known; even someone made of steel would be affected by them. What has kept leader Abdullah Ocalan steadfast is his ideology and his faith in his people, as well as his desire to do something for his people and resolve this issue."

Farzende Munzir emphasized the need for Turkish authorities to consider the sensitivities of the Kurdish people, stating, "If Turkey is sincere in this ongoing process peace and a democratic society then Leader Abdullah Ocalan must be released immediately. On February 27th, they said he should be freed and speak in parliament. Where is the practical application of this statement? The Turkish state has taken no steps to secure the leader's freedom, nor has it taken any steps to resolve the Kurdish issue."

Munzir stressed that everyone the Kurdish and Turkish peoples, the Turkish authorities, and international public opinion must understand that this issue is one of a peaceful and democratic solution led by Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

He continued, "Therefore, the leader's life, health, and the success of the entire process are linked to him. Given his deteriorating health, urgent steps must be taken. In this regard, the people must also rise to their responsibilities, and democratic action must be strengthened at this stage."

Farzanda Munther added: “The UN international organizations, the Human Rights Council, the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), the European Court of Justice, and the Committee of Ministers concerned with this issue must immediately fulfill their responsibilities and guarantee the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

To demand an immediate investigation into the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan will send letters to the institutions that must fulfill their duties, according to Farzanda Munther, who concluded by saying: “Within three days, we will send letters to the United Nations, the UN Human Rights Council, the Committee of Ministers, and the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.”
