Euphrates Women's forum kicks off

The Euphrates Women's Forum, organized by the Kongra Star in Kobani, kicked off today under the slogan "With the Will of Free Women, We Build a Democratic Syria." The event is being held in the town of Shiran, located in the eastern countryside of the city, and is attended by a large number of prominent women from the Kobani region, as well as representatives from civil, social, judicial, and service institutions, along with several activists with a long history of struggle and advocacy for women's issues and rights.

The co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration, Ilham Ahmed, is participating in the forum.

The forum aims to highlight the role of women in the region and throughout Syria, and to discuss the challenges facing women in various political, social, and legal fields. It also emphasizes the importance of their active participation in building a democratic Syria based on justice, equality, and the rights of all its components.

Furthermore, the forum provides a platform for dialogue to strengthen support for women's issues and empower them, and to solidify their presence in various spheres of public life, thereby contributing to the promotion of community participation and the building of a more balanced and just future. The forum sessions are scheduled to address the importance of drafting a democratic constitution that guarantees the rights of women and all Syrian communities, with an emphasis on ensuring the inclusion of the Kurdish language in the Syrian constitution and supporting the role of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) in protecting society and defending women's gains in the region.

Peyman Alloush, a member of the Kongra Star Coordination Committee, affirmed that women have played a pivotal role in recent years on political, social, and humanitarian levels, and stressed the necessity of continuing the struggle to achieve a democratic society that guarantees freedom, equality, and justice for all Syrians.
