Derbasiyah residents hope for achieving peace, Leader's physical freedom in New Year

With the arrival of 2026, the people of the city of Derbasiyah in the Jazira Canton congratulated all the peoples and components of Syria on the advent of the New Year.

In this context, citizen Ali Saleh said: "The year 2025 was full of events, including wars and hardships for which the people paid with martyrs. We hope the new year will be one of peace, love, and prosperity."

He added: "Syria is full of diverse components and spectrums, which gives it great beauty. Therefore, we hope the new year will be one of fraternity and shared coexistence."

For his part, citizen Asim Haj Muhammad congratulated all the peoples and components of Syria on the new year. He expressed his hope that it would be a year of goodness and that security would be achieved across all regions of Syria.

Meanwhile, citizen Idris Aiso from the city's residents wished for the new year to be one of security and fraternity throughout Syria. He hoped that the components, Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, and all other components, would remain united, that prosperity would prevail in the region, and that wars and crises would end.

In turn, young man Imran Omri offered congratulations to all peoples on the advent of the new year, saying: "We hope the new year will be a year of freedom and peace for our families, and a year of physical freedom for the Leader Abdullah Ocalan.”
