Syria's tomorrow depends on democracy, socialism, and female leadership

Politicians emphasized that building future Syria can only be achieved on democratic and socialist foundations, with women at the forefront and heart of its political and social movement.

Amid the challenges facing Syria, women's voices emerge as a conscious force stressing the necessity of empowering women and enhancing their participation in various fields of life, especially politics. In this context, female politicians from the Future Syria Party spoke to ANHA Agency.

Rama Al-Khadr, a member of the Women's Relations Office in the party, said: "True democracy is based on respecting cultural and religious differences, ensuring freedom of expression for all individuals without discrimination."

She added that "democracy promotes the principle of peaceful coexistence and combats all forms of discrimination and racism, contributing to building a just political system based on equality and social justice."

Regarding the role of Syrian women, Rama noted that "women have been at the forefront of the struggle in recent years, particularly in NE Syria, where they have proven their competence in various fields, from education to politics."

She continued: "Syrian women have shown exceptional ability to face challenges and have been, and continue to be, an active element in rebuilding society. It is essential that they lead the political and social scene in future Syria."

For her part, Nahed Nahhas, a  member of the party's Organization Office, stressed that "democratic socialism is a model capable of achieving a just society, as it is based on principles of social justice and equality, ensuring equal rights for all members of society through cooperation and solidarity."

She added that "democratic socialism places justice at the core of its political and social project, aiming to build a successful and balanced society."

Areej Qaddour, an administrator in the Organization Office of the Women's Council in the Future Syria Party, stated: "The co-presidency system, adopted in the institutions of the Autonomous Administration, has been a pivotal step toward achieving true equality between men and women."

She added: "This system, based on the philosophy of participatory democracy, has enabled women to be true partners in political decision-making alongside men, marking an unprecedented development in the history of Syrian institutions."
