The Afrin Liberation Forces issued a statement to the public today, providing clarification about the reported martyrdom of one of its fighters. The statement reads:

"On February 5, 2025, we had announced through an official statement the identity of our comrade Zinar Amad – Mousa, Muhammad Kurji – and confirmed at the time that he had been martyred during battles and clashes against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in the town of Sherawa in the Afrin.

However, subsequent assessments conducted by our forces, based on new field data, revealed that our comrade Zinar had not been martyred as initially reported. Contact with him has been reestablished, and he is currently continuing his revolutionary duty alongside his comrades.

In the spirit of transparency and clarity, we present this truth to our people. At the same time, we affirm that the Turkish occupation is responsible for the chaos and confusion in the occupied areas, as it systematically works to sow discord and mislead public opinion.

Amid the ongoing turmoil in Syria, the Turkish occupation has attempted to exploit the situation to commit acts of genocide against our people in Afrin. Nevertheless, our forces have played an important role in protecting our people, foiling the occupation's plans, and preventing its mercenaries from achieving their objectives."
