DAA discusses 2026 budget project

The Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria discussed on Monday the outlines of the 2026 general budget proposal, during an expanded meeting that included the co-chairs of the executive councils and finance offices in the cantons, along with the Presidential Body of the Democratic Peoples Council and the co-chairmanship of the Public Finance Authority.

According to the Autonomous Administration's official website, the co-chair of the Public Finance Authority, Ahmed Youssef, presented a preliminary draft of the proposed budget schedules and financial allocations for each canton, paving the way for a broader discussion on the initial draft of the upcoming annual budget and its financial and service priorities.

The attendees discussed the investment budget allocated for next year, which amounts to $150 million, emphasizing the need to direct it towards service, health, and education projects. They also stressed the importance of strengthening the role of the Union of Municipalities in developing infrastructure and implementing development plans, which will improve the level of services throughout the areas of North and East Syria Region.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was decided to set another date to complete the discussions with the Democratic Peoples Council, before submitting the draft budget for final approval after a thorough and comprehensive study.
