Clashes between Damascus forces, ISIS mercenaries in Homs countryside
The areas under the control of Damascus forces in the Homs countryside recently witnessed an escalation in attacks by ISIS mercenaries, resulting in deaths.
Armed clashes broke out between ISIS mercenaries on the one hand, and Damascus forces on the other, in the deserts of Palmyra and al-Sukhna in the eastern countryside of Homs, while Russian warplanes launched air strikes on the same sites coinciding with the clashes, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights SOHR.

Yesterday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the killing of two Syrian of the Russian-backed “Liwa'a al-Quds” group, in a surprise attack launched by ISIS at midnight Thursday-Friday, on a military site belonging to the Damascus forces, near the Jahar gas field in a mountainous area west of Palmyra in the eastern desert of Homs, where they were transferred to the hospital.
