The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the discovery of the body of an 11-year-old boy in Deir ez-Zor, days after he went missing on March 24. The body was found inside an abandoned building in an area opposite the courthouse in the city center, under mysterious circumstances.

In a separate incident, a young man was killed in the western Raqqa countryside on Thursday morning after being shot by unknown gunmen in the village of al-Barouda, east of the town of al-Mansoura. The attackers then fled to an unknown location.

Another young man was killed by Turkish border guards (gendarmerie) while attempting to cross the border from Ras al-Ayn/Tal Abyad in the Raqqa countryside into Turkey illegally. He was from the village of al-Karama, west of Raqqa.

These incidents come amid escalating crime rates and a state of lawlessness in several Syrian regions, where killings and assassinations are becoming increasingly frequent.
