Avin Jumaa: Turkish occupation fights humanity

The administrator of the Human Rights Organization in Jazira Canton, Avin Jumaa, spoke to ANHA agency about the attacks of the Turkish occupation state on North and East Syria, especially the recent attacks.

Avin Jumaa pointed out the continued attacks of the Turkish occupation state on North and East Syria, and that Turkish officials announced that they were explicitly targeting the infrastructure of the region, and that they were seeking to displace the people of the region with these steps. She said: “They are fighting humanity in the region and do not want peace and stability to prevail.”

Avin Jumaa pointed out that, according to international laws, the Turkish occupation state should have protected the Syrian-Turkish borders instead of launching attacks, and noted: “Today some areas of the region are occupied, and others are being attacked, and the (Turkish occupation state) continues its attacks with its war of cutting off water. The region is thus committing crimes against humanity, endangering people's lives, so it must be tried in international courts and held accountable for its crimes."

“We are having difficulty documenting because of the attacks.”

Regarding the process of documenting the attacks of the Turkish occupation state, Avin Jumaa stated that documentation is their main goal, and she spoke about the obstacles and difficulties facing this process: “We are not able to reach the site of the event due to the violence of the attacks. The Turkish state’s warplanes target people who go to the site of the event immediately. It launches several attacks after the first attack, and targets people who document the crimes of the Turkish state, whether they are in Turkey or here, as it considers them its enemies.”

“Reports are being prepared about the attacks.”

Avin Jumaa revealed that they are preparing legal research reports on these attacks, and that last year, they conducted many interviews with the injured, both male and female. Among them is journalist Dalila Agid, the victims of an incident targeting the administration of Jazira Canton. She said: “We hand over these reports to the Committee for Documentation of Human Rights Violations in Syria and the United Nations Human Rights Committee.”

The administrator of the Human Rights Organization in Jazira Canton, Avin Jumaa, called on international bodies and the coalition to adhere to their responsibilities and duties regarding stopping the violations occurring against the people of North and East Syria.
