Alliance of Iranian Kurdistan Political Forces condemns attacks against Kurdistan Region

The Alliance of Iranian Kurdistan Political Forces issued a statement on Thursday regarding the recent attacks targeting Kurdistan parties in the eastern part of the country, which are based in the Kurdistan Region.

The statement included, "To cover up its political, military, strategic, and ideological failures, the Iranian regime has once again escalated its missile and drone attacks against the fighters of East Kurdistan within the Kurdistan Region. These attacks indicate the regime's state of helplessness and weakness in the face of regional transformations.

The Alliance of Iranian Kurdistan Political Forces affirms its position on the current situation in three points,

First: These wars and tensions do not represent a conflict between the peoples of Iran and the world, but rather a direct result of the policies of the oppressive dictatorial regime that holds the Iranian people hostage. The current conflict is the culmination of decades of expansionist policies, interference in the affairs of other countries, and support for terrorism; policies that have led to economic collapse within Iran and pushed the regime to the brink of collapse.

Second: Since the beginning of this period till now, the Iranian regime has violated Iraqi sovereignty more than 700 times, targeting the Kurdistan Region. These violations have included more than 150 direct attacks on political refugee camps of East Kurdistan, which have resulted in the killing of Twenty-one people, among them ten activists and members of the coalition.

While condemning these violations, we reaffirm our full support for the stability of the Kurdistan Region and emphasize that targeting consulates, political camps, and civilian areas constitutes a violation of the Geneva Conventions and a war crime. We call upon states, the United Nations, and international bodies to take a firm stance against these attacks.

Third: We call upon our people abroad to act in a unified and responsible manner, taking to the streets and gathering in front of embassies and international institutions, to be the voice of our people's struggle and resilience. We also welcome any form of support from Kurdish forces, political parties, civil society organizations, and all supporters of freedom and justice, in order to support the cause of East Kurdistan and expose the violations of the Iranian regime.

In conclusion, we affirm that these attacks and sacrifices will not weaken our resolve, but rather will strengthen our belief in the justice of our struggle to overthrow this regime and achieve the freedom of Kurdistan."
