AANES announces its readiness to receive Syrian refugees from Lebanon

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria affirmed its readiness to provide the necessary support and assistance to facilitate the return of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, as the Israeli escalation continues on Southern Lebanon.

The streets of the main city of Sidon (Southern Lebanon) witnessed suffocating traffic in the direction of the city, due to the movement of residents of a number of southern villages and towns that are subjected to Israeli targets.

The Autonomous Administration said in a statement today that "the developments in the region, especially what is happening in Lebanon, contribute to increasing the suffering of our Syrian people displaced to Lebanon, in light of the difficult conditions they are living in within the displacement journey, as a result of what happened in Syria from the crisis more than a decade ago."

It stressed that return is a fundamental right and that all parties must work to facilitate it by all possible means, "as a result of what has been mentioned, it is urgently necessary to facilitate the return of our displaced people to their country, Syria, who want to return to their areas from which they were displaced."

At the same time, it called on the Damascus government to cooperate to facilitate their passage and take their suffering seriously, "stressing that we are all committed to alleviating the suffering of our displaced people and working to achieve return to avoid any risks they may be exposed to amid what is happening."
