61 female detainees in Iranian prisons went on hunger strike

Detained human rights activist, Narges Mohammadi, announced that 61 female political prisoners in Evin Prison in the Iranian capital, Tehran, are beginning a hunger strike, jointly, after the execution of a participant in the Jin, Jiyan, Azadî (Women, Life, Freedom) uprising called “Mohammed Qabadlo,” and to demand to stop executions carried out by the authorities.

It was written on the page of detainee Narges Mohammadi, while announcing the strike of 61 female detainees in Evin Prison, yesterday, Tuesday, January 23, “Mohammed Qabadlo was executed even though no final death sentence was issued for him. Detained women will resist in order to preserve the names of those executed, and in order for hundreds of people on death row to remain in the prisons of the Islamic Republic across the country.

It should be noted that Muhammad Qubadlo, 23 years old, who was arrested during the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” (Women, Life, Freedom) uprising, was executed, while the death sentence issued against him in the First Branch of the Supreme Court was violated.
