46 women, 5 children killed in one month in Iran

In its monthly report, the Women's News Agency (NUJINHA) revealed a shocking toll of violent crimes against women and children in Iran. The documented killing of 40 women and 5 children in just one month was documented, in addition to the execution of 6 women who had previously been convicted in various cases.

The crimes were distributed across various provinces, and were committed under flimsy pretexts and excuses.

Prominent documented crimes and suicides:

April 19: A young woman, Ameneh Dama, from Piranshahr, committed suicide for unknown reasons.

April 21: Setareh Mosapour, 18, from Jokerd village in Khoy County, was murdered by her husband's brother.

April 24-25: Two women were murdered in Baharestan Province, one by her ex-husband, and the other by her husband due to "family disputes."

April 26: Samira Abdolrahmani (Bokan) was murdered by her relative, and Maria Sharifi (16) from Baneh committed suicide.

April 27: Gholab Faramarzi (Dalahoo) was murdered by her brother-in-law, and the body of a young woman was found in Tehran-Pars.

April 29: Mahnaz Kasherloo, 38, from Zanjan, was murdered by her husband.

April 30: A series of horrific crimes, including the murder of Tahereh Khadami (Kerman) by her son. Two young women were killed in Tehran and Yasuj, one of whom was named Mahur Tandpour, who refused to marry her fiancé. A double murder occurred in Khorramshahr, where her husband murdered her wife and son. Fatemeh Barkhodari (Sabzevar) was murdered after she asked for a divorce. A five-year-old girl was murdered in Mehrshahr after an attempted murder of her and her mother.

Consecutive crimes in May:

May 1: Three women were murdered in Kermanshah and Amol.

May 3: Three women were murdered in Khorasan Razavi, Damghan, and Golbahar.

May 4: Samira Nourbakhsh (40 years old) was murdered in Kermanshah.

May 6: Three women were murdered, including:

Zahra Mirzaei (an anchorwoman) was murdered by her cousin.

Maedeh Khatibian (21 years old) was murdered by her husband in Mashhad.

Marzieh Nouraei (Doushmian village) committed suicide.

May 7: Five women were murdered, including:

A 14-year-old girl committed suicide in Abadan.

Mobina Kondabi, a mother of two, was murdered by her husband.

Writer Shiva Aristavi committed suicide in Tehran.

May 10: Darvishi Divan-Morad (Kahnoj) was murdered by her husband, and 7-year-old Raha Ghanbari was murdered by her stepmother.

May 11: An engineering student committed suicide in Hamedan, and two women were murdered in Tehran and Varamin.

May 13: An 85-year-old woman was murdered in Darab by a thief.

May 14: Evin Reyhani (Baneh) committed suicide.

May 16: The mysterious death of journalist Nazhat Amirabadian, who had been covering corruption cases.

May 17: Yasmin Nosrati (20) was murdered in Shahroud, and her wife and mother were murdered in Firouzabad, Fars Province.

May 20-21: Double Crimes:

A 40-year-old woman murdered in Tehran.

A young woman murdered in Tabriz, and her daughter injured.

In Nahavand: A man kills his three children and leaves their bodies in the mountains.

Executions of 6 women:

April 28: Marjan Sabzi (Khorramabad) executed on drug charges in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.

Gezel Hesar – Karaj: A woman executed for the murder of her husband.

May 1 – Shiraz: Mahtab Amiri executed for murder.

Yasuj Prison: Ashraf Shahbazi executed for drug charges.

Tehran: Hafiza Baluch Zahi (24) executed for "collaborating with foreign groups."

May 12 – Gorgan: Mahboubeh Khosrvanjad executed for the murder of her cousin.

Documentation Restrictions

The report emphasized that these cases were documented only through reported news, noting that political and cultural restrictions in Iran make it difficult to obtain accurate statistics.

The report added that the number of unreported crimes is believed to be much higher than reported.

A Call to the International Community

The report concluded with an urgent appeal to international human rights organizations and relevant authorities to take immediate action to stop these crimes and violations against women, calling for the protection of women and young women in Iran from domestic, societal, and institutional violence.
