​​​​​​​AANES: We will direct all energies and capabilities to confront policy of genocide and occupation

Today, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a written statement regarding the fourth anniversary of the Turkish occupation army’s attack on Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi.

These days mark the fourth anniversary of the occupation of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi, where four years of the most horrific violations and genocide of all kinds and also a terrible change in the reality of these cities in terms of authenticity, through denying and suppressing the historical diversity of these beautiful cities in which the Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Chechens, Circassians and others lived, and they have now become dark areas in which everything is permissible without any control with the Turkish instructions and Turkey’s leadership of this approach.

The state of genocide and violations against our occupied areas from Afrin all the way to Serêkaniyê, and Girê Spi, the most horrific crimes that have occurred in Syria since the beginning of the revolution, and the largest violations of all moral and emotional standards and values and international covenants, in continuation of what Turkey is doing today in the occupied territories, the policy of genocide is being perpetuated throughout the regions of NE Syria, in front of the eyes of the world, whereas the understandings that took place between the previous American administration and Erdogan and the failure that took place internationally led to what happened in Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi, as well as in the same way in Afrin and at the same pace, these understandings and policies led to this occupation, this displacement, and this pain. Today we see Turkey developing the same policy and practicing aggression and genocide against our regions, deriving its strength from the accompanying international silence. Unfortunately, the crimes and destruction being committed today by the fascist regime are a continuation of those destructive, expansionist policies and under the same policy that provides the ground for its attacks.

On the fourth anniversary of the Turkish occupation of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi, we affirm that it is urgently necessary to save the collapsed moral values in these areas and to prosecute all mercenary and Turkish officials responsible for the series of crimes they committed against the people of NE Syria and our occupied areas. Rather, Turkey went about pursuing the forcibly displaced people, and began bombing the vicinity of their camps in Hasaka and Shahba, where they were forcibly displaced.

In the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, we affirm that the choice to liberate our occupied regions is our strategic choice, with all our capabilities, we will confront the policies of genocide and occupation and we will win with the strength of our people and their insistence on living in dignity, as well as with the solidarity and unity of our people, the policies of genocide will not pass, and the enemy will not achieve its goals as long as We draw strength and support from our people and continue on the path of our heroic martyrs.

On the fourth anniversary of Turkey’s occupation of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi, we call for the necessity of complying with the reality of the situation and not turning a blind eye to what Turkey is doing towards our people in NE Syria by all the active forces in Syria, the United Nations, human rights and humanitarian organizations and the Security Council, and all who are keen to achieve stability.
