Amnesty International calls on Taliban to release feminist activist and her family

On September 9, the Taliban arrested a member of the Spontaneous Movement of Afghan Women Demonstrators, Nada Parwani, her husband, and her child, after searching her home in the city of Khair Khan in the Afghan capital, Kabul, for repeatedly protesting against the restrictions imposed on women.

Amnesty International said in a statement that a week after the arrest of Nada Parwani and her family, there is no information about their place, and it expressed its concern about the arbitrary detention of Nada Parwani.

And stressed that human rights violations, especially the violation of the rights of women, are still continuing in Afghanistan, calling for the establishment of the Human Rights Council, an independent international mechanism to hold accountable those responsible for human rights violations.

The Taliban, returned to power in Afghanistan since August 2022, and continues to practice unjust policies against women, imposing orders and restrictions on them and depriving them of all their rights.
