Since the beginning of this month, the Tal Tamr district of al-Hasakah canton in North and East Syria has witnessed continuous and daily attacks, as the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries targeted the villages of the Tal Tamr district with more than 300 shells, coinciding with the large infiltration operation that was thwarted by the forces of the Tal Tamr Military Council on the 3rd of this month, the mercenaries suffered heavy losses in lives and equipment.

The field commander of the Tal Tamr Military Council, Khabour Akad, spoke to ANHA's agency about the situation and recent field developments on the Tal Tamr fronts. He said: “During the past days, we faced major attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries. They were ground attacks, including attacks using UAVs, artillery, and heavy weapons, and gangs of mercenaries carried out infiltration operations into the western countryside of Tal Tamr, but with the valor of our heroes and fighters, we were able to inflict heavy losses on them in lives and equipment.”

With the process of Security Enhancement, the occupation and its mercenaries tried to open several combat fronts.'

He added: "With the beginning of the process of Security Enhancement for the Syrian Democratic Forces in Deir ez-Zor, and the progress of our forces in combating terrorism in those areas, mercenary attacks concentrated and increased, causing great pressure on our forces by opening several combat fronts, but our forces proved their presence and were able to break those attacks."

The Syrian Democratic Forces launched an operation to Security Enhancement in the Deir ez-Zor countryside, to pursue ISIS cells, perpetrators of criminal operations, and drug traffickers on the 27th of last August, and it is still continuing in the form of a security operation more than a military one.

'Securing civilians is the first goal of our forces, after which they take the initiative to defend and respond to the occupation and its mercenaries.'

During his talk about the conditions of civilians, Khabour Akad touched on the situation of civilians, saying, “There was fear among civilians about the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on their villages, but their morale was high, and with the Tal Tamr Military Council repelling and deterring the occupation’s attacks, the fear of the residents of the region turned into great confidence that their forces were a council.” Tal Tamr Military can protect them, and can deter these attacks.”

He added, "With the occupation attacking our areas, our forces take the initiative to protect civilians and take them out to safe areas, so our forces return to protect the region and deter attacks, and after securing the villages in general, we secure the safe return of our people."

The occupation intensified its strikes with UAVs'

During the beginning of last month and until the beginning of this month, the Tal Tamr district witnessed intense drone flights, in addition to intense targeting carried out through UAVs. Regarding this, Commander Khabour Akad pointed out during his speech, saying: “During this month, drones targeted the area 8 times, but all of these attacks caused only material damage. There were no casualties among our forces. Today, our forces are able to protect themselves with new and advanced methods against what they use.” The Turkish occupation forces during their attacks, and our fighters were well trained on how to protect themselves from drones, and how to ambush attackers.”

Mobilizations and movements of the occupation and its mercenaries on the Tal Tamr fronts'

To talk about the recent conditions witnessed by the occupied areas adjacent to the frontlines, the commander explained, following those intense attacks, that “the frontlines are witnessing large mobilizations of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, especially after the process of Security Enhancement. Today, the movements and mobilizations are at the level of the lines of contact adjacent to the villages of Tal Tamr.” Our forces monitor these movements and take military measures accordingly.”

Our people must trust us and the occupation must know that our forces are ready to protect the region

The field commander of the Tal Tamr Military Council, Khabour Akad, confirmed, saying, “Since the first day of the occupation of the city of Sere Kaniye/ Ras al-Ain in late 2019 and to this day, our forces have defended valiantly to repel all the attacks and assaults targeting our regions and villages, and our forces have also broken the dominance of the Turkish occupation mercenaries during the attacks.” Which happened during this month, and we assured everyone that we are ready to deter these attacks, and we proved to the occupation and its mercenaries that Tal Tamr is not an easy area that they can enter, as today all components of the region are defending this land.”

He concluded his speech with a message addressed to the peoples of the region, saying: “We are the sons of these peoples and the sons of this land. They must trust that our forces can protect the entire North and East of Syria, and that our forces are keen to impose security and stability.”
