Kongra Star: We will avenge our comrades by escalating the struggle

On Sunday, Kongra Star issued a written statement about the attacks of the Turkish occupation state and its targeting of citizens, which read:

“The Turkish occupation state, with its authoritarian and anti-humanity and anti-nature approach, continues to pursue a policy of tyranny and extermination against the indigenous peoples of the region, as a result of its aggressive mentality based on invasion, plunder, kidnapping and murder, and because it does not accept any entity of the peoples and is hostile to their will. It launches various types of attacks on the people of the region and uses them against them.” Various types of weapons in an attempt to legitimize its aggression. It also continues its attacks on the forces responsible for protecting women, society, and families, the Women’s Protection Units YPG, the People’s Protection Units YPJ, and the Syrian Democratic Forces SDF, to achieve their plans in light of the policy of extermination, because the presence of the protection forces guarantees the preservation of the gains of the revolution. The revolution of women and society in general. Women have begun to assume a leadership role and enjoy free will and the power to intimidate the occupier, but all these plans have been defeated and thwarted, so they launch brutal and immoral attacks that have never been seen before.

We condemn these brutal attacks launched by the Turkish occupation state against the leaders of our movement. The Freedom Movement on a daily basis, especially the recent attacks that targeted the leader of the Women’s Protection Units; Sharfin Sardar, Nugan Ocalan, and Janda Judy, which resulted in their martyrdom.

The enemy launches various types of attacks on the female leaders who fought against ISIS terrorism, and who defeated it through great resistance. Such as the leader and freedom fighter Sharafin, who fought against ISIS with her fellow martyrs; Jiyan Tolheldan, Reyhan Amuda, Sawsan, Delar and Rojna.

In this context, we, at the Kongra Star Council, strongly condemn the silence of the United Nations Security Council and the international community, because their silence means their complicity, and we call on humanitarian bodies and organizations to put pressure on the Turkish state to stop its attacks and hold it accountable.

We affirm, as a women’s organizational movement, that we will avenge our comrades by escalating and strengthening the struggle and raising the slogan ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî’.”
