IFJ calls to hold accountable for perpetrators in crime targeting JIN TV crew

The International Federation of Journalists called on the Turkish occupation to open an investigation into the targeting of a Turkish occupation UAV of the Jin TV crew, on August 23.

This came in a brief statement published on the official website of the International Federation of Journalists, in which it stressed the need not to target journalists and media workers, and to allow them to perform their work without any interference.

The statement read: "A drone attack in the city of Qamishli, eastern Syria, which is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces, on August 23, resulted in the death of the driver, Faisal Haj Sinan, and the serious injury of the reporter, Dalila Akid, both of whom were part of the JIN TV team." Run by a group of female journalists.

In its statement, the federation called on "the Turkish authorities to open an immediate investigation and hold the perpetrators accountable, stressing the need not to target journalists and media workers, and to allow them to perform their work without any interference."
