KCK: Rights of Şengal people, represented in democratic administration and self-protection, must be supported

This came during a statement issued by the co-presidency of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) on the anniversary of the genocide massacres committed by ISIS against the Yazidi community.

The statement reads: "We recall all those who died in those massacres, and we express our deep feeling for the pain of the Yazidi community, and we strongly condemn the criminal fascist gangs of ISIS that committed these massacres and those who were complicit with them".

The statement stressed: "The rights of the Şengal people, represented in democratic administration, self-protection, and living according to their faith and culture, must be supported, and decisions should be taken in this regard. The peoples who emerged from the genocide have such a right, and this is a very legitimate right, which is required of all humanity, and those with morals to adopt and support this cause. The people of Şengal want to live within the unity of Iraq, taking into account their democratic will and recognition of them. Only by recognizing this legitimate right we can stand by the people of Şengal and against genocide".
