Settlement of another 50 people in Girê Spî district

The Turkish occupation state has settled 50 new Syrian refugees in the canton of Girê Spî/Tal Abyad, which it occupies in Syria, forcibly transferring them from Turkish territory to the canton, bringing the number of those who transferred and settled them in the canton during the current month to more than 300 people.

According to a local source from the occupied Girê Spî canton, the Turkish authorities brought 50 Syrian refugees into the occupied Girê Spî canton through the Girê Spî border crossing, all of whom came from other Syrian regions, and handed them over to the so-called "Tal Abyad Local Council" of its mercenaries, to settle them in the canton.

Since the beginning of this month, ANHA's agency has documented the transfer by the Turkish state authorities of more than 250 Syrian refugees to Girê Spî canton, in parallel with similar entry operations in the areas occupied by Turkey, "Serê Kaniye, Jarabulus, Azaz, and Afrin", bringing the number of those admitted and settled in the canton to 300 people from "Deir-ez-Zor, Aleppo, Hama, and the countryside of Damascus."

The Turkish state's moves come within the framework of its settlement project represented in settling the Syrian refugees within the occupied areas, instead of the original inhabitants who were displaced from it as a result of the Turkish occupation of their areas.

The majority of those who are forcibly transferred to the occupied areas refuse to stay in those areas, given the security chaos, chaos, deteriorating living conditions, and crimes committed by Turkey and its mercenaries.

The deportees prefer to go to the areas of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, despite the dangers of crossing them.

On June 26, the Girê Spî Canton Council revealed to our agency that 256 families from the occupied canton had arrived in the areas of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

Turkey has occupied Girê Spî / Tell Abyad since October 19, 2019, after it occupied several areas in northern Syria, such as "Idlib, Jarabulus, Al-Bab, Azaz, and Afrin" over the years of the Syrian crisis.
