The woman mentioned and discussed the cultural and intellectual challenges that women face from religions, and how to overcome them, the contribution of women in building the pillars of brotherhood in society and in ancient civilizations, the role of women and their contribution to establishing the principles of brotherhood in religions and contemporary history, the values of brotherhood and their impact on women, and the responsibilities of women to restore their role pioneer in promoting brotherhood, through 3 main axes.

The discussion came during the second session within the Second International Conference on Religions and Beliefs held in the city of Hasakah in northeastern Syria, under the title "The Role of Women in Strengthening Brotherhood Bonds", which was supervised by the head of the Women's Council of the Democratic Islam Conference, Avin Youssef Al-Hajji.

In the first axis, in which the participants dealt with the cultural and intellectual challenges faced by women from some religious centers and how to overcome them, a member of the Syrian Women’s Advisory Council, Asmaa Kaftaro, indicated in a video clip, the society’s vision of women on the basis that they were created for service and childbearing, She said, "The facts impose real responsibilities on women to advance the status of women, as women have been treated as servants in their homes, distancing them from public affairs and submitting to their husbands, and the woman we want is to be a partner in development."

She drew attention to the prominent role of women during the era of the Prophet Muhammad, and how she used to work in commercial forums such as Khadija, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad, and that women enjoy wisdom and knowledge such as Mrs. Aisha, and she said: “The Prophet also attached great importance to women and in highlighting their role, but the scales turned and obstacles were placed in front of women in the name of religion.

She noted that it requires women today, in order to regain their leading role, a stormy intellectual revolution, to stop the raging discourse motivated by preserving them, and clarifying the true image of women, and that it requires at the media level to fight media that is offensive to women and their issues, and she said: "We are partners in building this world and in building sustainable peace.

While the spokeswoman for the Yazidi Women's Union in North and East Syria, Souad Hesso, referred to the pioneering role of women throughout history, and said: "Women were deities, and a source for forming society, but with the advent of power, the role of women was marginalized, and their role in managing societies was undermined." , and kept it away from it, and what established that are myths and then philosophy, to be completed with the advent of religions, and what deepened the fact that women are considered in the second degree is the mentality that came through that.

She added, "But in light of all that, there was a continuous resistance of women to preserve their rights, and they did not surrender, and this resistance is still continuing, and the pace of women's resistance increased with the emergence of the ideas of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, who transformed women from the woman who accepted slavery to the woman with the main role in society at all levels.

A member of the Executive Body of the Syrian Democratic Council, Ilham Ahmed, stressed that the most important challenges facing women are wars and conflicts, whether on the intellectual or physical level, and touched on what Syria is witnessing as an example of that, "We are now living a realistic experience of that, as Syria has been suffering for years." From intellectual and physical conflicts, reaching the level of bloody wars, of course women are among the most affected.”

She added, "Women are more affected by wars and conflicts, based on the idea that women are half of society and raise the other half, so the aspects of influence on women are greater than others, as war exposes them to killing, forced displacement, self-alienation, and alienation from society."

And she continued, "However, despite this, women remain the ones who preserve their identity the most from alienation, assimilation, and genocide, and have a role in preserving peace and fraternity," citing what Kurdish women have achieved in preserving Kurdish culture and the Kurdish cause.

Ilham Ahmed believed that to reduce the impact of wars and conflicts on women, and push them to exercise their role in leading society, it is necessary to fight extraneous ideas, end the patriarchal mentality hostile to women and society, and work continuously to shed light on women's issues through continuous dialogue workshops, media and research programs on The issues of women who still suffer from this mentality, which has become a burden on society.

She recounted what women witnessed, and what they are witnessing in the regions of North and East Syria after the start of the Syrian crisis, by saying: "The women's movement in North and East Syria, since the start of the events in Syria, was present, and began to organize its ranks, until it reached issuance of decisions to protect women."

She added, "It cannot be claimed that in Syria, the efforts of the women's movement in Syria have been reached, and its main role has been restored, because of the continuation of the same reasons inherent in the mentality that is still authoritarian. There are still ongoing activities of the women's movement to build a democratic society, starting with building the democratic family."

During the second axis, on women's contribution to building the pillars of brotherhood in society in ancient civilizations, the co-chair of the Soraya Democratic Party, Madeleine Khamis, mentioned some excerpts from the role of Assyrian women in building and leading ancient civilizations.

She said, "During ancient civilizations, many Assyrian women who led wars and won victories, such as Semiramis and Shamiran, emerged as role models."

Regarding the role of women and youth in consolidating the principles of brotherhood in a diverse and diverse society, within the third axis, the researcher in women's affairs, Shifa Sawan, indicated that young women have a great role in society, given that the young group is the engine of society and they have the energy for continuous learning, and that it is located on it is upon them not to be drawn into discrimination, and to be open to all religions and beliefs in order to reach in the future an ethical society that recognizes others and equality.

In a related context, activist Suad Hasso noted that the influence of customs and traditions in society is one of the biggest challenges that women face, starting with the family and ending with the rest of life's opportunities.

The work of the Second International Forum of Religions and Beliefs, which started this morning in the city of Hasakah, northeastern Syria, has been halted, and it will continue its work tomorrow morning.
