The Iranian authorities have sentenced human rights activist Golrokh Iraee to five years in prison, due to her participation in protests condemning the killing of the Kurdish young woman, Gina Amini, since last September.

The Iranian judicial authorities issued other rulings against the activist “Golrokh Iraee”, including the confiscation of her mobile phone, preventing her from leaving the country for a period of two years, and preventing her from being in Tehran, or participating in parties and gatherings for two years as well.

An informed source close to the "Golrokh Iraee" family indicated that the Court of Appeal in Tehran, which issued the verdict, did not provide any documents and evidence condemning the human rights activist.

The Iranian authorities arrested the human rights activist "Golrokh Iraee" about ten months ago, and imprisoned her in the notorious Evin Prison, because of her participation in the ongoing popular protests.
