PKK: Leila Surkhin played key role in spreading "Woman, Life, Freedom" revolution

PKK's Executive Body issued a statement about the leader Leila Surkhin, stating:

"Every day our comrades join the convoy of martyrs at the leadership level, the last of which is the martyrdom of the brave daughter of the people of Amed and Kurdistan, the member of the Central Committee of our party, the PKK, the member of the leadership council of the People's Defense Forces and the Free Women's Units-Star, and the commander of the Botan region, comrade Leila Surkhin. We recall the comrade Leila Sorkhin with appreciation and respect, and we pledge to continue her struggle for freedom until victory. The Kurdish people, who have sons  like Leila Surkhin will never be defeated, and never accept a life of slavery.

Comrade Leila joined the ranks of the PKK at a young age in the Bismil district of Amed from a patriotic family, where she was always in the front ranks of the party and within the Guerrilla. She always wanted to be in the most difficult arenas. She did not know difficulties through her struggle. She was a brave fighter, she participated in a fedayeen spirit, humility and pleasure, her comradeship relations were very strong and deep, she was as pure as water, ideologically and organizationally, she deepened in the leader's philosophy, with these qualities, she was granted The strength and morale to her companions.

In every period of struggle, she represented the party's standards in her personality, and she fought for the application of the party's standards at the leadership level, she has become a leader on the path of Agid and Zilan to implement the strategy of the people's revolutionary war on this basis, she filled the void created by the martyrdom of comrade Dalal Amed, the leader of the Free Women Units-Star, and she fought in Botan and was martyred there.

Leader Ocalan said that the PKK is the women's party, and our movement is the movement of freedom and women. With this vision and philosophy, the Guerrilla movement became a party and created the women's system with its heroic struggle, it transformed into a pioneering force on the basis of the ideology of women's liberation. Within this framework, the leader's views about women spread in all of Kurdistan and the world.

From the ideological, organizational and political point of view, the women's revolution has reached a high and important level. Comrade Leila Surkhin was one of the pioneer fighters in this struggle.

Comrade Leila showed, at this important stage of the struggle, responsibility, spirit of sacrifice at the highest level, and stood in the front ranks against the isolation regime in Imrali and participated in the struggle for the physical freedom of leader Apo. She joined the ranks of the struggle from Amed, united with Botan, and brought patriotism and the resistance of the people and women to the highest levels. Therefore she worked hard to destroy the fascism of justice and development and the national movement and achieve the freedom of Kurdistan and the democratization of Turkey, and she played an important role in that.

Undoubtedly, this fact and the great efforts of the immortal leader from Botan will never be forgotten. Comrade Leila did not know obstacles and difficulties, the Kurdish youth and people will understand the immortal leader correctly, they will join more and more ranks of the Guerrilla, they will wage the struggle and achieve victory, resist on the path of the leader and the martyrs, break the system of torture in Imrali and secure the physical freedom of leader Apo, our heroic martyrs will become a torch and illuminate our way.

On this basis, we once again recall the immortal leader of women and the Kurdish people, Comrade Leila Surkhin, with appreciation and respect, and we call on women and youth to follow in the footsteps of comrade Leila and join struggle for freedom.
