​​​​​​​Anti-Occupation-Genocide of Women Initiative condemns the crime of rape of a child in Afrin

On Sunday, the Initiative against the Occupation and Genocide of Women for Security and Peace issued a written statement condemning the crime of rape of a child by a mercenary of the Turkish occupation in occupied Afrin, at the beginning of which it stated:

On May 6, 2023, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the mercenary "Ahmed Mamdouh" known as "Abu Daham", one of the mercenaries of what is known as the Sultan Suleiman Shah group, known as "Al-Amshat" and linked to the Turkish occupation state, raped a 10-year-old Afrinian girl, during the mercenary accompanied the girl and her mother on their way to Afrin, where the mercenary raped the girl in the orchards scattered in the area.

Afrin, which was before the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, was one of the safest and most stable areas, as it was run by its people, the owners of the land, and within a Democratic Autonomous Administration DAA that believed in the right of women to equality in all aspects of life and administration, and thus it became a safe haven for hundreds of displaced families, but living in peace and under the authority of the administration Autonomous and democratic The Turkish state, which considered the existence of the Autonomous Administrations a threat to its security, did not like it, but in reality it was an excuse to take revenge for the defeat of ISIS, the partner of the Turkish state, and the barbarism of Turkey's ruler, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Its other goal was to eliminate the gains of the revolution in which women played a prominent and effective role, until it was known as the Women's Revolution.

The statement added that "hitting women's gains and using them as slaves or as spoils of war stems only from the reactionary male mentality that the Turkish state uses political Islam to legitimize every forbidden thing for its interests, as these actions are not related to Islam in any way. Likewise, the daily crimes that are committed against women, children have not been spared, despite the issuance of documents in this regard, international, human rights and humanitarian institutions did not lift a finger in the face of these crimes, and we affirm that it is their silence that opens the way for the commission of more such crimes.

The statement stressed, "We, in the anti-occupation and genocide of women initiative for the sake of security and peace, strongly condemn these crimes, especially against women and children, and we call on all concerned institutions to expose these practices and defame the policy of the Justice and Development Party, the main reason for what the Syrian people live in the occupied areas, and we invite the Turkish people to nominate A democratic system that is open to a democratic solution and brings a solution, security and peace to both Turkey and Syria.
