Families of martyrs in Aleppo shed light on objectives of Damascus govt's blockade

Today, the Council of Martyrs' Families in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh made a statement to the public about the repercussions of the siege imposed by the Damascus government.

The statement was delivered, during a gathering of dozens of martyrs' families, in front of the Center of the Council of Martyrs' Families within the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo by the administrator in the Council of Martyrs' Families, Suzdar Rasho.

The statement stated: "The Fourth Division of the Damascus government continues to impose its siege on the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Al-Ashrafiya, and Al-Shahba district, and that the tightened siege on the two neighborhoods has great repercussions on the service and health sectors.

The statement touched on the repercussions of the blockade, and explained: "This blockade caused a rationing in the number of electricity hours in the two neighborhoods due to the lack of fuel."

The statement highlighted the objectives of the Damascus government from the siege and emphasized: "The goal behind these actions is to kill life and the revolutionary spirit in the two neighborhoods."

The statement noted: "All of this to make concessions from SDF within the framework of the Russian efforts that aim to reach a formula of understanding that satisfies Turkey and the Damascus government.

In the statement, the families of the martyrs denounced the siege policies adopted by the Damascus government against the residents of the two neighborhoods.
