Today, a new system has begun in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo to ration electricity, reducing the hours of electricity supply to the people from 5 hours to two hours only, as a result of the depletion of the generator fuel reserve over the Damascus government’s prevention of fuel entry into the two neighborhoods.

The neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh depend on generators that run on fuel to supply the electric current, and there are 66 generators, each consuming about 30 to 35 liters of diesel every hour.

Today, the People's Municipality of the two neighborhoods issued a decision to reduce the working hours of electricity generators to two hours.

The official of the Generators and Electricity Committee of the People's Municipality for the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, Ahmed Jalousi, indicated that the situation of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods is deteriorating due to the siege imposed on them.

Jalousi explained the reason for reducing the working hours of electricity generators, and said: "The decision to reduce the working hours of generators a result of the siege imposed by the Damascus government on the two neighborhoods."

Worth to note that the people of al-Shahba canton have been suffering from power outages since April 27, as a result of the unjust siege imposed by the Damascus government.
