With Eid al-Fitr approaching, citizens in the areas under the control of the Damascus government are unable to purchase Eid necessities, such as clothes and sweets. As a result of the economic crisis that the government fails to find any solutions to.

The Damascus government did not save the situation, despite the fact that the holiday atmosphere and the practice of its rituals are almost non-existent in its regions. Given the meager salary, and the dependence of citizens in those areas on remittances sent to them from their relatives residing outside Syria.

Citizen (R.B.), in the city of Aleppo, who refused to reveal her name for security reasons, said about her preparations for the feast: "Like the previous year, the rituals and atmosphere of the feast are missing in our house."

She confirmed that her husband's salary, an employee, is not enough to meet the needs of the house until it is sufficient to celebrate the holiday, and she explained: "The salary is 109 thousand SP, this amount does not meet our needs, and we forgot to celebrate the holiday."

R.B considered the remittances sent by her relatives the only way to bring joy to the hearts of her two children, and said: "Years ago, my husband's job was no longer our main source of income, and without the remittances, we would not have been able to buy anything."
