PDK raises flag of Başûr to protect defeated Turkish army in Metina

The Turkish occupation army began its attacks on the areas of Zap, Metina and Avashin in Başûr (southern Kurdistan) on the 14th of April 2022, which made the resistance of the People's Defense Forces and the Free Women Units-Star continues to resist these attacks. Meanwhile, the KDP's alliance with the occupiers was revealed again. The KDP forces confiscated the logistical materials of the People's Defense Forces and the Free Women Units-Star. They also set up ambushes for the guerrillas and opened roads for the passage of Turkish armored vehicles and military vehicles.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party forces rushed to the aid of the Turkish occupation army in Hakkari Hill.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party went to the region during the month of July to help the Turkish occupation army, and this increased during the month of August.

In addition to the armored vehicles, the KDP also built roads and headquarters and strongholds for the Turkish occupation army in the Metina. Whereas, during the past month of August, it had built a road between the resistance area of Hakkari Hill and the resistance area of Amadiya Hill with bulldozers.

The KDP's support for the Turkish occupation army was unable to stop the Guerrilla resistance.

The People's Defense Forces and the Free Women's Units - Star carried out many revolutionary operations against the occupiers, on Hakkari Hill on the 26th and 27th of last November, and forced them to withdraw.

They raised the flag of the region to protect the occupiers

When the soldiers of the Turkish occupation army got stuck Hakkari Hill, the KDP forces rushed to their rescue. The Turkish occupation army had previously also sought to station itself on the hill, but was unable to do so. The KDP forces have established military headquarters on this hill, they raised the flag of the Southern Kurdistan Regional Government over three bases located on three hills.

They also raised the flag of the Southern Kurdistan Regional Government over the military base on Sidar Hill leading to Hakkari Hill to protect the Turkish army from Guerrilla operations.

They built a road for the tanks to pass from the border to the hill

The KDP forces have fortifications on top of the mountains leading to Amadiya, and these areas have witnessed fierce battles in the past. Above the fortifications of the Turkish occupation army in this area, the flag of the Southern Kurdistan Regional Government is raised. And the Turkish occupation army during the month of December had withdrew its forces from this area which called the "Commando area".

Hakkari Hill is located 15 kilometers from the Turkish-Iraqi border, and it is the highest area in Amadiya, and therefore it has strategic importance. The road established by the Kurdistan Democratic Party linked Hakkari Hill to the border line, as the Turkish occupation army transports its tanks, armored vehicles and military equipment to Hakkari Hill via this road.

Now, the presence of the Turkish occupation army forces is limited to the east of the Zay River in the Metina region. On Hakkari Hill only. The occupying forces were unable to stand on the hills as a result of the resistance of the Guerrilla, so they withdrew. The only reason for the KDP to build roads and bases around Hakkari Hill is to prevent the fall of the last stronghold of the Turkish army in the region.
