After the Syrian crisis and the intervention of external powers, led by the Turkish occupation state, which occupied large parts of the Syrian territories, starting from Jarabulus, Azaz and Al-Bab, all the way to Afrin, Girê Spî and Serêkaniyê, all crossings between the areas occupied by Turkey and other Syrian regions were closed, and in return it sought the Damascus government, through its irresponsible policies, aims to separate the areas it controls from the regions of northern and eastern Syria.

The crossings between the Autonomous Administration areas and the Damascus government are closed

There are several crossings linking the regions of northern and eastern Syria and the Damascus government, namely;  Al-Tabqa and Abu Kahf (Al-Tayha) crossings in Manbij, Abu Al-Assi crossings in Deir Ezzor and Al-Tabqa for traffic.

Al-Tabqa and Abu Kahf (Al-Tayha) crossings in Manbij were closed by the Damascus government, March 20, 2021, which were used for trade and traffic between the areas of the Autonomous Administration and the Damascus government, then the Tabqa crossing was opened for humanitarian cases, in addition to the entry of a small part of the aid it was providing.  International and relief organizations and the World Food Program, as a share for the regions of northeastern Syria through the Damascus government, following the closure of the Tal Koçer border crossing with a Russian veto at the beginning of 2020.

The Autonomous Administration sought to bring relief and humanitarian aid to those affected by the earthquake in the city of Aleppo through the Al-Tayha crossing on February 8, but the Damascus government stood in the way of that, after 9 days it was brought in.

There is the crossing of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, which is controlled by the "Fourth Division" of the Damascus government, and the Tal Rifaat crossing separating the regions of the Damascus government and the al-Shahba canton, and they have been closed for 6 months, as the members of the "Fourth Division" prevent the entry of fuel, medicine, international aid, and others into the Sheikh neighborhood.  Maqsoud, Ashrafieh and Shahba, with the exception of some rare cases in which small amounts of aid were allowed to pass through.

The only crossing is closed by a UN resolution

In the east, it connects the regions of northern and eastern Syria with Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) Semalka crossing, which is sometimes used for trade exchange in addition to the Suwaydiyah crossing, and with Iraq the Tal Koçer / Al Yarubiyah crossing, which has been closed since 2020 by a decision of the Security Council, with a double veto from Russia  and China, which insisted on keeping the Bab al-Hawa crossing, which is controlled by the Turkish occupation state and the mercenaries of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (Jabhat al-Nusra) open in Idlib, northern Syria;  to cross the international aid.

The crossings between the Autonomous Administration and the Turkish occupation state are closed

There are several crossings linking the Autonomous Administration with the Turkish occupation state.  Including the Nusaybin crossing in the city of Qamishlo, and crossings in Darbasiyah, Serêkaniyê, Girê Spî and Kobani, all of which were used for trade exchange, visits and some humanitarian cases, and after the revolution of July 19, 2012, some of them were closed, and by 2015 they were all closed by the Turkish occupation state.

Two crossings were also opened between the areas of the Autonomous Administration and the Turkish occupation state inside the Syrian lands, after the latter occupied parts of the Syrian lands.

Following the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria, on February 8, the Autonomous Administration sent shipments of relief materials and fuel to the people of the areas occupied by Turkey, but it obstructed the entry of such aid to the afflicted.

Border crossings between Syria and the Turkish occupation state

It links Syria and the Turkish occupation state with several crossings.  Including the Bab al-Hawa crossing in the countryside of Idlib, which is under the control of the mercenaries of "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham", and the Bab al-Salama crossing, in addition to the al-Hamam, Jarabulus and al-Ra'i crossings, which link the Turkish occupation state with areas in the north and east of Aleppo, and are controlled by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation state.

All crossings between the areas of the Autonomous Administration and the areas of the Damascus government, and between the Turkish occupation state and the areas of the Autonomous Administration, and even the only crossing between the Autonomous Administration and Iraq in Tal Koçer, are closed;  In order to impose dictates on the Autonomous Administration, and this was evident after the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria, on February 6, when the crossings were opened in the occupied areas, in addition to the establishment of air bridges between the Damascus government and some Arab countries such as the Emirates in order to bring aid in, even Israel, the eternal enemy of the government  Damascus, as it claims, has instructed to provide aid to the Syrian earthquake victims.  While the Turkish occupation state and the Damascus government obstructed the opening of the crossings between them and the Autonomous Administration, which sent relief and humanitarian shipments to the areas affected by the earthquake.

While Amnesty International describes the Damascus government’s siege of the al-Shahba areas as “brutal,” it did not address the closure of the Tel Koçer crossing, nor the siege imposed on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and worse than that, that Bashar al-Assad announced, on February 13, the opening of  Bab al-Salama and al-Rai crossings in the areas occupied by Turkey, for a period of three months;  To deliver relief supplies to the areas affected by the earthquake.
