International aid convoy enters Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh neighborhoods

On Monday, the "Fourth Division" checkpoints deployed in the vicinity of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods allowed the entry of 9 trucks carrying humanitarian aid, including shelter supplies, into the two neighborhoods.

The trucks entered the two neighborhoods through the Al-Awarid checkpoint and headed to the Shaqif area in front of the Afrin Hall, and began unloading its cargo.

In this regard, the Relief Committee in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods told ANHA agency that it will start distributing this aid, which falls within the shelter requirements.

As for the date of distribution, the Relief Committee indicated that it is working in cooperation with the communes to issue tables and lists of those affected by the earthquake and arrange them according to eligibility.

It is noteworthy that the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods had issued an updateable report on February 13, where mentioned the necessary needs of the residents of the two neighborhoods as a result of the losses caused by the earthquake.

The Relief Committee also confirmed that the Syrian Red Crescent promised to bring in 21 trucks carrying shelter supplies, which came from the contributing countries to mitigate the effects of the earthquake that struck the region and caused the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Syrians.

In a related context, the Damascus government is still preventing the passage of a humanitarian aid convoy sent by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria since February 10 to the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods.
