YNK's spokesman: Baghdad, Hewler's agreement on Şengal is very dangerous

On October 9, 2020, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) and the former Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, signed the "Şengal Agreement", against the will of the people of Şengal.

About the dangers of the October 9 agreement against the Şengal district, the member of the Executive Council of the National Union of Kurdistan Party (YNK) and the spokesman for the YNK party office in Şengal, Dawood Jundy Sheikh Kalo, spoke to Roj News, where he indicated that there was great dissatisfaction and rejection by the people of Şengal regarding the security agreement between Hewler And Baghdad, which took place against the judiciary.

He said: "This agreement is contrary to the will of the people of Şengal. There is no representative for them, so it must be stopped immediately and not implemented. This agreement is very dangerous for the people of Şengal, especially Article 7/ which mentions the presence of the PKK in Şengal, which is contrary to the truth."

Sheikh Kalo also stated that the solution to the Şengal problem can be achieved in accordance with the Iraqi constitution by giving all rights and demands to all components of Şengal, and said: "We demand recognition of the Autonomous Administration of Şengal within the framework of the Iraqi federal system."
