​​​​​​​Displaced people face  Damascus government siege with different means

 The displaced people of Afrin resort to fighting all the difficult conditions imposed on them by the Damascus government and the Turkish occupation state, in order to return to their homes, which in turn suffer from the brunt of the occupation.

 And in the embodiment of this live resistance;  The displaced from occupied Afrin resort to the afara and collect the remaining livelihoods to secure their daily sustenance in light of the strict siege imposed on them and the daily attacks.

 As the "Fourth Division" affiliated with the Damascus government tightened the siege on al-Shahba canton since last August, in the midst of a harsh winter, difficult living conditions, and the loss of the most basic necessities of life;  It prevents the entry of basic materials such as fuel, medicine and foodstuffs.

 This coincides with the daily attacks launched by the Turkish occupation state on the areas of the canton and the Shera and Sherawa districts of the occupied Afrin canton.

 In light of all this, the displaced, who live in camps and semi-destroyed houses, are trying to make ends meet by going to the orchards that were planted with potatoes and onions.

The orchards they go to are located in villages adjacent to the areas occupied by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries, such as the village of Harbel, which is only a few km away from the occupied areas. It witnesses daily bombardment with heavy weapons, but the displaced women and their children go out to collect the leftover.

 Hanifa Ali;  An Afrin displaced woman from the village of Barada in Sherawa district in the occupied Afrin canton, residing in Sardam camp in the village of Tal Sawsan, since the beginning of the Turkish occupation of Afrin in 2018.

 Hanifa said, while washing the potatoes she collected with cold water, that their situation is very difficult. She expressed her great longing for her occupied home by saying: "We miss our soil and our city, Afrin, and our olive trees, and we hope to return to Afrin soon."

 She pointed out, "Yesterday I went to the afara, and as you can see, I cleaned the dirt from it. We harvested it from the crop residues to manage our affairs amidst the shortage of food, fuel and gas."

 She added, "We will challenge everything, and resist in al-Shahba until the return to Afrin is achieved, because we are its sons and we want Afrin."
