Mass protests in Euphrates region, Manbij demand Ocalan's physical freedom

The people of the Euphrates region and the Health Committee in the city of Manbij denounced the strict isolation imposed on the leader Ocalan and demanded his physical freedom.

Under the slogan "With the spirit of the youth's guerrillas, we will guarantee the freedom of the leader," the people of the Euphrates region took part in a mass demonstration on Sunday to demand the breaking of the isolation of the leader Ocalan and the achievement of his physical freedom.

KOBANI

The demonstration, in which thousands of people from the Euphrates region participated, started from the Free Woman Square in the city of Kobani towards Martyr Sariya Ozkor Street, known as Street 48, raising pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and chanting the slogan "There is no life without the leader" and "Resistance is life."

The administrator of the Youth and Sports Authority in the Euphrates region, Khunaf Khalil, delivered a speech in which she denounced the isolation imposed on the leader Ocalan, and said: "Today our leader under strict isolation and his health condition is unknown and this is a cause for concern; therefore we demand pressure on the authorities of the Turkish occupation state to know his health situation."

Khanaf concluded her speech by saying: "They are trying to deceive us in various ways, but we are following the leader's thought and philosophy, and we know very well that their goal is to thwart our democratic project of Autonomous Administration."

The Health Body of the Democratic Civil Administration for the city of Manbij and its countryside issued a statement in front of Al-Furat Hospital in Manbij, in the presence of doctors of private hospitals in the city.

"Twenty-four years have passed, and the Justice and Development government still insists on violating all international covenants on human rights, and continues its crime against free opinion and enlightened thought by imposing inhuman isolation against the leader."

The statement noted "The leader suffers in his prison from diseases that increase the suffering of isolation."

He stressed, "The arrest of the leader Ocalan was a political decision that violates all laws, and his health condition inside the prison is not clear to the public."

The statement held the "United Nations and human rights organizations responsible for what the leader Abdullah Ocalan is exposed to," and called on "human rights bodies in the world, the World Health Organization and (CPT) and all the free people of the world to put pressure on the Turkish government to clarify his health condition."
