​​​​​​​Female commanders and leaders martyred by Turkish occupation and its mercenaries

The Turkish occupation state which was founded upon a fascist and authoritarian mentality and the denial of other sides, is targeting all those people who oppose their views.

The Turkish occupation state and their mercenaries are, in their attacks against North and East Syria, primarily targeting the women who fought against the ISIS mercenaries and the occupation and achieved success in all fields of the revolution. The goal of the Turkish occupation state aims at carrying out these attacks in order to destroy the success of the women. All this is done amid international silence.

The Turkish state which is assisting ISIS, are using methods of special warfare and occupational attacks against the sovereignty of Syrian territory and are violating international laws.

In this report, we will give a reminder the attacks of the occupying Turkish state on the leading women of the Rojava Revolution and Northern and Eastern Syria.

August 19 is the first anniversary of the martyrdom of one of YPJ and Tel Tamir Military Council`s commanders, Sosin Birhat. Sosin Birhat was martyred along with 4 of her comrades in a UAV-attack by the Turkish occupation state against the building of Tel Tamir Military Council.

Sosin Muhammed (Sosin Birhat) was born on January 1st 1976 in the village of Omara in Afrin canton`s Shera district. Sosin's family consists of mother and father of 6 girls and she is the 4th in the family.

Sosin Birhat grew up in a patriotic family which was introduced to the philosophy of Leader Ocalan in 1987. 2 of her sisters were members of the Agiri Dance Group (Koma Agiri).

Sosin Birhat joins the Kurdistan Liberation Movement in 1995 and saw 15 years of education in the ranks of the guerillas. With the beginning of the July 19 Revolution, Sosin returns to Sheikhmaqsoud neighborhood and joins the resistance of the neighborhood`s residents against the attacks by the mercenaries from the Turkish occupaton state and assisted the people and their defense forces according to the principles of revolutionary people`s war.

Commander Sosin Birhat participated in the resistance in the neighborhood between 2014 and 2016 and become a source of moral and ispiration to the fighters. She put down a great effort in defending the neighborhood and left her mark in the resistance of Sheikhmaqsoud neighborhood.

Additionally, commander Sosin Birhat also participated in the operations to liberate the regions of North and East Syria. Until the last moment of her martyrdom, she worked as a member of the YPJ Military Council and the SDF Military Council.

56 women were martyred and 104 were injured in the occupation attacks against Afrin that started on January 20, 2018.

FROM BARIN KOBANE UNTIL DILSOZ TIRBESPIYE

On February 1st the same year, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries carried out a brutal crime against the martyred YPJ fighter, Barin Kobane. The body of martyr Barin Kobane fell into their hands.

In attack by the Jabhat Al-Nusra on May 28-29, 2013, against the villages of Sherawa, YPJ fighters Berivan Nujan and Slava were martyred and become the first martyrs of YPJ.

On October 12, 2019, or with the beginning of the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on Serekaniye  and Gire Spi, the General Secretary of the Future Syria Party, Hevrin Khalef, was martyred on the M4 road by Ankara mercenaries who then went on to mutilate her body.

On October 13 the same year, a warplane of the Turkish occupation state hit a convoy of citizens from the Al-Jazeera region who were en-route to Serekaniye to support the people. As a result, dozens of citizens, including a journalist and a mother named Aqide Osman (53), were martyred.

On Januart 22, 2021, ISIS mercenaries attacked and martyed the Co-Chair of Tel Shayir Town Council in Hassakeh, Saida Al-Harmas and Hin Al-Khidir. In avenge for the two martyres, the SDF carried out an operation against ISIS mercenary cells and arrested those responsible for this attack against the two women.

CRIMES WITH UAV`s CONTINUED

The Turkish occupation state changed its methods of attacks and started using UAV`s

On June 23, 2020, a Turkish occupation UAV targeted the house of a mother named Emine Waysi in Halinje village of northern Kobane. As a result, Emine Waysi and Kongra Star members Heboun Mele Khalil and Zahra Berkel who were inside the house, were martyred. 

On June 25, 2021, Turkish occupation UAV once again carried out a strike against a house in Kobane. As a result, 6 members of the Revolutionary Youth Movement of Syria and the Women`s Youth Union were martyred.

Even though women made new gains in North and East Syria, the attacks against them increased.

On May 30, 2020, the Turkish occupation state targeted a car on the Qamishlo highway, resulting in YPJ figghter Mizgin Botan being martyred.

On July 2, 2022, a car was targeted in the village of Tel Semin in Raqqa, resulting in YPJ commander Mızgin Kobane being martyred.

On April 20, 2022, YPJ fighters Jihan Ali, Ronahi Kobane and Dilar Aleppo were martyred as a result of an attack by a Turkish occupation UAV in Kobane.

On July 22, 2022, an armed UAV from the Turkish occupation state targeted the road between Qamishlo and Tirbespiye, resulting in YAT and SDF commander Jiyan Tolhildan, YPJ commander Roj Khabour and YAT fighter Barin Botan being martyred.

On July 28, 2022, an armed UAV from the Turkish occupation state bombared a car from the Internal Security Forces in Ain Isa. 4 members of the Internal Security Forces, Jihan Muhammed, Sara Muhammed Al-Hussein, Selma Ali Mustaffa and Bashar Muhammed Ali Bozan were martyred as a result.

On August 9, 2022, the Turkish occupation state bombed a security-post of the Self-Defense Forces who were tasked with protecting the hospitals in Qamishlo which resulted in the martyrdom of 4 fighters, including Dilsoz Tirbespiye.

It is worth noting that the SDF eventually arrested the cell of agents which was responsible for the martyrdom of Commander Renas Roj, Sosin Birhat and their comrades, in the framework of Operation Oath.
