Horrendous crimes against Shahba, Sherawa residents by Turkish shelling  

Ongoing attacks of Turkish occupation against Afrin IDPs and Shahba canton residents by shelling them deliberately with UAVs, artillery shells and missiles, in addition to internationally prohibited weapons, in front of suspicious silence from the international community, human rights and international organizations, and the Russian forces guarantor of the ceasefire in the region.

3 massacres against the displaced people of Afrin

* The first massacre was committed in Tal Rifaat district against Afrin displaced people on December 2^nd, 2019, which resulted in the martyrdom of 10 citizens, including 8 children under the age of 15, and the injury of about 13 citizens, most of them children.

The martyrs are: Abd al-Fattah Aliko, 3 years old, Aref Mohammad Jaafar, 6 years old, Mohammad Mohammad Omar (7 years), Emad Ahmed Kifo (9 years), Mustafa Mohammad Majeed (10 years) and Hamouda Mohammad Ali (11 years). - Samir Abdel-Rahman Hesso (12 years old) - Mohammad Abdel-Rahman Hesso (15 years old) - Ali Mahmoud Othman (54 years) - Hussein Abdullah Kol Deh Doo, 73 years old.

* The second was committed on February 25, 2020, against a whole family from Afrin’s displaced, consisting of a husband, wife and their daughter, and the injury of 3 others, in the bombing of the Turkish occupation on the village of Aqiba in the Sherawa district.

The martyrs are: Hassan Ezzat Mohammad, 55 years old, Fatima Ahmed Ali (46 years old), and Sorousht Hassan Mohammad (12 years old).

* The third was committed against two children and a woman, and 7 others were wounded in the Tel Rifaat district, on January 23, 2021.

The martyrs are: Majed Yasser Sakran (5 years), Abdul Mohsen Sakran (12 years), and Nazli Muhammad Mustafa, 55 years old.

On July 26^th, the Turkish occupation army bombed the vicinity of Tel Rifaat, the village of Sheikh Issa, and the villages of Shera and Sherawa districts, with more than 940 artillery shells, killing a 17-year-old girl and wounding 5 women.

On August 4, the Turkish occupation army targeted, through a suicide drone, the center of Tel Rifaat, wounding 9 citizens, 6 of whom were children.

In this attack, Hussein Aliko (who is the father of one of the children injured in the aforementioned Tel Rifaat massacre) was also wounded, as he lost his eye as a result.

According to the statistics of the Kurdish Red Crescent and Afrin Hospital, the number of martyrs and injured since the beginning of the displacement of people to al-Shahba canton and Sherawa district reached 102, where 26 citizens were killed, including 13 children and 6 women, and 76 were wounded, including 37 children, and 25 women were injured at different times and places as a result of the bombing. About 350 thousand citizens of the displaced Afrin and the indigenous residents of al-Shahba live in al-Shahba canton and Shara and Sherawa districts, and more than 22 thousand citizens live in Tal Rifaat district, including 7,000 of the indigenous residents of Tel Rifaat.

There are 5 camps for the displaced people of Afrin (Berxwdan in Fafin district, Afrin in the Hadath district, Sardam in the village of Tal Sawsan of the Hadath district – al-Awda and al-Shahba in Sherawa district), where about 10,000 live in each camp, who are almost exposed daily attacks of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries.
