​​​​​​​ Al-Assi: No-fly zone must be imposed on region to maintain its security and stability

 The Turkish occupation state has recently increased the pace of its attacks on northern and eastern Syria through drones and artillery shelling, violating the agreements concluded with a Russian guarantee. However, the Turkish occupation state did not abide by these agreements amid silence from the Russian guarantor, who did not move a finger.

 In this regard, our agency held a meeting with the joint head of the Defense Authority in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Zeidan Al-Asi, who began his speech by saying, "As for the Turkish drones, they are continuing, and what we have noticed during the past days, especially after the Tehran summit, is the frequent use of drones against citizens and populated areas, military and administrators in northern and eastern Syria.

 Regarding the threats of the Turkish occupation state to launch an operation in northern and eastern Syria, Al-Assi stressed, "Turkey did not take the approval from the Tehran summit, so it resorted to using drones with the aim of destabilizing the region."

 Al-Assi explained, "The aim of the Turkish occupation is to revive ISIS mercenaries operations in north and east Syria," stressing, "After the Turkish attacks, we noticed the spread of ISIS cells, especially in the eastern regions."

 The region is in a constant state of war

 Al-Assi stated, “The problem lies with the “guarantor countries,” in the media, they are against the Turkish operation in northeastern Syria in particular and Syria in general, but it does not prevent Turkey from using drones and artillery, and as long as there is use of heavy and light weapons and drones, we are in a state of war with the Turkish occupier."

 And he added, "There is a rejection of this process, but on the ground the opposite is happening. A country is persecuting another and there is no deterrent from the guarantor countries, knowing that there are understandings between Turkey and Russia, but Turkey did not implement them."

 Regarding the understandings between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the forces of the Damascus government, Al-Assi said, "The forces of the Damascus government have reinforced on the lines of contact with the Turkish forces, and there are no understandings other than the understandings of 2019 / which guarantee that the forces of the Damascus government are outside the regions and villages and spread on the contact lines between areas  north and east Syria and the Turkish army and its mercenaries.

 At the end of his speech, Al-Assi called on the UN Security Council to take a position to prevent the use of aviation against the Syrian people, and to impose an air embargo on the region;  Because it has caused instability and tension in northern and eastern Syria."
