Yazidi Women's Union in Aleppo denounces the construction "wall of shame" by Turkish state

The Yezidi Women's Union in Aleppo denounced the construction of the wall between Shengal and Rojava, describing it as a "wall of shame", and stressed that "all the plans of the Turkish occupier and the Kurdistan Democratic Party against us will fail.

The Yezidi Women's Union in Aleppo made a statement to the public opinion, appealing to human rights and international organizations to intervene to stop the construction of the "wall of shame", indicating that it is to separate Rojava and Shengal from each other.

Dozens of members of the Yazidi community in Aleppo gathered in front of the Yazidi house located in the western part of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, to make a statement, which was delivered by the member of Yezidi Women's Union Coordination in Aleppo, Newroz Addo.

At the beginning of the statement, the statement stated: "In light of the chaos that prevails in the world, the state of exploitation, the harbinger of a third world war and the state of hegemony (...) the dominant countries imposed their control over the region and controlled the fate of peoples in the Middle East," noting that these countries encouraged the Turkish occupation state to adopt its aggressiveness’ policies.

The statement referred to the attack on Shengal in 2014, "which was part of the scheme that helps the occupation build military bases within the lands of Shengal and on large areas of the neighboring borders, which the Turkish state was not satisfied with, and in agreement with the Iraq Government, to seize the lands of Shengal."

The statement stressed that "the Yezidi people, who have tasted the scourge and terror of the firmans, are steadfast on the land of Shengal, and will not hesitate to defend it and protect its sanctities. They condemn and denounce any attack or aggression that affects the sanctity of Shengal."

Yezidi Women's Union in Aleppo pledged all freedom martyrs - who sacrificed themselves in order to achieve the freedom of peoples - to resist and follow in their footsteps. they also sent a message to the Turkish occupier and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, in which they said: "All the plans and conspiracies you are plotting against us will fail, and we will be liberated under the Autonomous Administration."

In its conclusion, the statement appealed to all human rights and international organizations to intervene to stop the construction of the "wall of shame."

The event ended with chanting slogans that revive Shengal's resistance.
