KNK: Newroz fire should be a symbol for unity of Kurdistan's People

On Saturday KNK issued a statement to the public opinion, on the occasion of Newroz day, the statement read:

" Newroz day has a obvious place in the history of Kurdistan, it is day of resistance, and victory over oppression, it became a symbol of liberation and freedom against slavery, occupation, colonialism and all forms of oppression.

The Kurdish people have made Newroz a great public celebration and a day of resistance, where the Kurdish people celebrate Newroz in all parts of Kurdistan and the diaspora, the Kurds have made Newroz an arena of liberation and freedom, in their struggle at all levels, whether in villages, cities, prisons or in all areas of life.

Nowruz fire is being lit today, all over Kurdistan. It is officially celebrated in Başûr and Rojavai Kurdistan, but in Rojhlat and Bakur Kurdistan, the Turkish and Iranian states are trying to strip Newroz of its content, however Newroz is celebrated in its true meaning in Rojhlat and Bakur, despite all obstacles.

Clearly this year will also be a year of great struggles against the enemy particularly the Turkish state, which is in the midst of a massive offensive on Bakur, Başûr and Rojava in order to eliminate the gains of our people, it deliberately used chemical weapons more than 300 times over the past year.

Moreover the Iranian state and the Syrian regime didn't not recognize the rights of our people, and target them in various ways.

Necessary precautions must be taken against all occupiers in addition to consolidation of protection forces must be strengthened in order to achieve all this, unity must first be achieved within the Kurdish home.

With belief and confidence the Kurdistan National Congress congratulates all Kurds with national and patriotic warmth on the occasion of Newroz.
