After call from Blinken, Turkey bans all military units from Bosphorus, Dardanelles straits

 "We have notified all riparian and non-riparian countries of the Black Sea not to send their warships to pass through our straits," Çavuşoğlu said.

 He added, "We have adhered to the provisions of the Montreux Convention," which grants Turkey the right to control the crossing of these two straits, according to the official Turkish Anatolia News Agency.

 The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, had previously spoken on Monday with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

 Turkey sought to play on the contradictions between Russia and the United States of America, as it did in Syria, Libya and other countries, and tried to maintain its relationship with Washington and NATO without disturbing Russia.

 The latest Turkish decision contradicts President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's words today, during which he affirmed that his country supports Ukraine's sovereignty over its entire united territory.

 The Russian and Ukrainian delegations confirmed the conclusion of negotiations in its third round in Gomel, Belarus, noting that it was agreed to hold a new round in the near future.
