Afrin IDPs: Our resistance is only way to liberate Afrin

 The Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries launched their attack on Afrin canton on January 20, 2018, with more than 72 planes over the canton’s sky, whose area does not exceed more than 3850 square kilometers.

 The people of Afrin resisted for 58 days the barbaric occupation of the area with all kinds of internationally prohibited weapons, and thousands of victims were killed in the crimes that were committed at that time in the shadow of an international silence.

 The painful date of the people of Afrin canton approaches the date of forced displacement to al-Shahba canton, the day the Kurds considered a black day, which falls on February 18, 2018.

 In order to return to the occupied canton of Afrin and liberate the occupied areas, the people of the canton have been resisting in destroyed tents and houses for nearly 4 years.

 The displaced people of Afrin at Barkhdan camp, located in Fafin district in al-Shahba canton, spoke to our agency, expressing their deep sorrow for being far away from their homeland.

 Sultana Muhammad spoke about their fear of the Turkish bombing of Afrin canton and its suburbs and villages, "I will not forget that day, as it is firmly established in my mind as if it were yesterday. Four years ago, we lived a happy life in our safe homes, and the Turkish occupation warplanes began the barbaric bombardment on us."

 Sultana continued, "For 58 days, we resisted all kinds of bombing and did not surrender despite the martyrdom of thousands of our young men, children and women, but the Turkish occupation aimed to get us out of our area by any means and bring settlers from the families of its mercenaries with the aim of demographic change and obliterating our identity."

 Sultana explained that the completion of the plans was agreed upon and at the hands of some traitors who rushed to sell their land and abandon their goal, which is the unity of the Kurds.

 At the end of her speech, Sultana said: "I am addressing them now that our presence here and our departure from our lands will not change anything. On the contrary, we will resist the difficulties in the tents to confirm our return and the liberation of our areas."

 For his part, Osman Seydou likened the conspiracy that was plotted against the leader Abdullah Ocalan on February 15, 1999 by the dominant countries by targeting the occupying state to canton Afrin.  out of existence."

 He added, "Forcing us to leave Afrin and change the composition of the region and the schools of our children and impose the Turkish language on the remaining families, and our presence here for nearly 4 years does not mean that we abandon our homeland or forget it, our goal is to insist on staying here in order to liberate our areas and return to it."

 As for Zainab Oba, she described her grief for their displacement from Afrin canton, saying: "Like a bird of Bulbul, who was placed in a cage of gold, but he could not stand the prison and demanded his freedom."

 Concerning the international silence about the crimes committed since the occupation of Afrin to this day, Zainab said: "All this killing that took place in Afrin since our displacement to al-Shahba until the present time has occurred in the shadow of complete silence from all the dominant countries without holding the occupying state accountable for its crimes, which proves that they are  Partners in crime.
