Jelal Zenati: PKK legitimate not terrorist

On the latest calls made to remove Kurdistan Workers' Party from the U.S. and EU terrorism list a statement was made by Jelala Zenati Scholar and assistant professor in the Social Sciences in the Alexandria University.

Jelal Zenati said the PKK is a legitimate resistance Kurdish movement against the Turkish occupation and its acts against armless citizens''. 

Jelal Zenati said the main reasons behind enlisting the PKK in the terror list due to the U.S. interests with some countries like Turkey the NATO ally, adding the role played by the Kurdistan Workers' Party in combating ISIS was sufficient evidence to remove the party from the black list.

On the campaigns launched to remove the party from the terror list Zenati said' they are all sublime ones and seek to put things in the correct direction. If the party removed from the terror list struggling leader  Apo ought to be released from Turkish state oppression''.

Zenati said the United States of America and the European Union well know that the party is a legitimate one and not a terrorist one''.

Jelal Zenati went on to say the PKK is a legitimate resistance movement for the Kurdish people and the party had never attacked civilians as the Turkish regime does''.  

Enlisting the party was for mere political reasons and regional alliances that does not express the party as a national movement as many countries think of which Egypt that believes the party a national one and not a terrorist, Zenati concluded.
