​​​​​​​ Dirar: There is prior coordination, sustained preparation for organized attack on prison

Commenting on the recent events in the city of Al-Hasakah from the attacks of ISIS mercenaries on the prison in the Ghweran neighborhood of Al-Hasakah city, and the attempt to smuggle detainees, our agency conducted an interview with the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Riyad Dirar.

 Advance coordination and sustainable preparation

 He said at the beginning of his speech: "Such an organized attack on the prison in the Ghweran neighborhood cannot take place without prior coordination and sustained preparation. I think that for its success it also needs broad support from more than one party."

 He added: "These preparations, last month we saw attempts to detonate cars at the prison borders and break into, and that cell was arrested, in addition to the weapons it was storing to be taken to prison in the event of an explosion, and therefore this order was applied in the case that happened two days ago.  , also bombing, intrusion and entry of weapons, and therefore what we wonder about is how the coordination between inside and outside was done in this way.”

He stressed that "the new movement of ISIS and its reactivation in Iraq and Syria is an event that cannot be without compelling reasons, especially since the loss suffered by the organizations that previously ruled in Iraq calls for them to incite ISIS to find a role for it, as happened in previous times when it regained this  The popular crowd has its prestige and presence under the name of fighting ISIS, so awakening the beast in order to kill it is one of the goals of those who want to regain control of Iraq after the loss they received.

 The distortion of the image of the SDF and the simultaneity of the Turkish attacks is striking

 Regarding the goals of these attacks, he said: "They have a goal to indicate that these forces cannot protect the areas and places where ISIS members are being held, and therefore they are working to change the image of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the security forces that protect the detention areas, and there is an interest at least for the Turkish side which is in a state of great economic decline and collapse."

 He added in this context: "This regime (Turkey) wants to draw attention to a conflict outside the borders that incites and rehabilitates it through many of the mercenary elements that follow it. The remarkable thing is this movement that the Turkish forces are taking through their drines and their sabotaged elements by attacking on  areas in Tal Tamr and Ain Issa, in addition to the bombing of targets that come in order to help protect the prison and search for ISIS cells.”

He expressed his astonishment, saying: "The remarkable thing is the quantity of weapons that are constantly available to ISIS elements and its cells that have not stopped, and no matter how strong the elements of smuggling are, it cannot be in this quantity, this crowd, and this ability to move, were it not for a reconnaissance force capable of playing this role.  This also directs attention to a party that is also benefiting from what is happening, which is the system.”

 In this context, he explained, "Sabotaging the atmosphere and chaos that can pervade and occur is one of the methods of changing the shape of the region through signs of inability and weakness, and this matter can only be done if there is coordination, and whatever type of coordination is, it seeks to strike the project that  was able to eliminate the organization in previous stages, which is holding the remaining members of this organization.”

 What if all the militants escaped from prison?

 Dirar warned against the hypothesis of the escape of all ISIS elements, saying: "The chaos that prevails if ISIS elements leave anywhere in their places of detention, this will re-cycle the conflict in the region and enter the elements that want to manipulate the path of the political solution." 

 He added: "On a previous day, in Sednaya prison, the number of detainees was 1,300, and when a rebellion took place in the prison and it was besieged by the regime, this siege lasted for about 11 months until it was reduced after negotiations, penalties and constant pressure until a small remnant remained. The prison was stormed on them, meaning  the intractable experiences inside prisons for ISIS are known, and the results are also known to the regime and have experience in managing them.

 Dirar continued: "This regime that could benefit from this chaos, even though at that time there was no weapon inside the prison, but rather there were handicrafts, which they made with the prison's own light manufacturing tools, knives, swords, arrows, etc.,  As for now, there is a weapon, and therefore this one who gave himself to death and does not think about life at all, is ready to take all the means in which he eliminates others and commit suicide in the end without there being any judgment of reason and without batting an eyelid, for these people do not value life,  Therefore, such chaos is considered the most important achievement in which they live.”

 The international community is sluggish

 Regarding the position of the international community, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council said: "There is great negligence on the part of the international community in such a delay in fair trials for them and real support in order to distribute them to places of detention, so that they cannot act in the way that has been done so far in front of this huge number in one detention center."  ".

 He added: "If the international community is waiting for a moment to be manipulated by those who control the course of events in the region through these people, I think that this community is committing a great sin, because any few who escape from this detention will commit all crimes without caring about the law, humanity, reference and society."  The international community everywhere is responsible and everywhere bears the consequences that result from such a move, which the neglect of this society contributed to its renewal.”

 Everyone is evading the establishment of an international court

 Regarding SDC’s efforts to end this dilemma, Riad Darrar said: “The efforts of the Syrian Democratic Council and the Autonomous Administration did not stop in searching for a way to establish a court for the detained ISIS elements.  matter."

 He added: "The international community can today recalculate after what is happening and start working on prosecuting these ISIS militants and giving them the judgments they deserve. A resolution must be reached for these files, because there are many humanitarian issues that also need to take care of children, care for families and take care of them through all the means that  It rehabilitates them after the model of extremist thought was implanted in their brains, and the rest of those who live, whether in the camps or inside places of detention, are increasing the cultivation of this extremist ideology in the minds of each other, and in the minds of children through women. All of this is one of the worst things that promise us in the future the worst.  confrontations."
