The notable of Al- Sabkha clan and the co-chair of the Public Relations Committee in Al- Raqqa Civil Council demanded to remove Kurdistan Workers’ Party from “terror list,” and indicated that the PKK fought terrorism, and whoever fights terrorism should not be described as a terrorist.

Extensive campaigns were launched throughout Kurdistan and the world in order to remove the PKK from the "black list", on December 13, 2021, the International Justice Initiative for the Kurds also launched an international campaign to remove the PKK from the "terror list" in the United States of America and the European Union.

In this regard, sheikh of Al-Sabkha Clan, Turki Al-Suwan, said: "We, the dignitaries of Al-Raqqa tribes call once again for the PKK to be removed from the international terrorism list."

He explained, "We call for the PKK to be removed from the "terror list", because we have noticed that the goals and actions of the PKK are not what the Turkish regime has been promoting in the past years."

Al-Suwan stressed that "Project of the PKK is based on foundations of the democratic nation, the project applied in NE Syria, where it united the peoples of the region, it does not serve one nation, but all nationalities.

Al-Suwan added, "The PKK does not make divisions, nor shedding blood, it serves all nationalities in NE Syria and the Middle East."

Al-Suwan indicated that "The Turkish occupation state seeks to distort the PKK through its media. We have seen what the Turkish occupation state is doing in northern and eastern Syria, Turkey has committed violations, war crimes, kidnappings, killings and displacement."

"Who would be a terrorist in this case? The one who kills, displaces and kidnaps people, or the one who protects people, fights terrorism and unites the peoples of the region?"

Al-Suwan concluded his speech by saying, "We call on all international and honourable parties in the whole to remove the PKK from the list of terrorism, because we did not enjoy security and safety until we saw goals of this party, which had a major role in eliminating ISIS terrorism."

For his part, the co-chair of the Public Relations Committee in Al-Raqqa Civil Council, Muhammad al-Hawash, said: "Previously, we used to hear through Turkish Media outlets that this party is a terrorist and commits crimes against humanity, but what we saw in the past years after our liberation from ISIS mercenaries was the opposite."

He pointed out that "the Kurdistan Workers' Party, with participation of the Syrian Democratic Forces, which includes all components of the region from Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs and Assyrians, fought ISIS terrorism in the region that was threatening the world in general and Europe in particular."

Muhammad al-Hawash stated, " We, the Arab component in the city of Raqqa, have seen the PKK achieves democracy, we have not seen any terrorist operation targeting humanity rather, we have felt with safety and freedom of expression in the society."

Al-Hawash concluded his speech by saying, "We call on the International Community and all those concerned to remove the Kurdistan Workers' Party from the list of terrorism and work in accordance with international principles and ethics towards such decisions."
