CSTO forces begin withdrawal from Kazakhstan

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that "peacekeeping" forces of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have begun to withdraw from Kazakhstan and hand over the sites it supervises protection to Kazakhstan security forces.

The ministry added, in its statement: "According to plan drawn up by Collective Peacekeeping Forces Command of CSTO and Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, the process of handing over important sites and facilities guarded by peacekeeping force to Kazakhstan security forces has begun," according to "Novosty" Agency.

It is noteworthy that "peacekeeping" forces have begun preparing equipment and materiel to be loaded onto Russian Air Force planes, and to return to their permanent points.

Kazakhstan President, Kassm gomart Tokayeev, announced yesterday, the completion of the mission of "peacekeeping" forces in his country, which was carried out by CSTO led by Russia.

For its part, the organization said yesterday that the peacekeeping forces, consisting of 2,000 soldiers, will take 10 days to fully withdraw.
