Ishaq considers the closure of Al-Waleed and FishKhabur crossings an attempt to worsen the economy in the region

Ishaq statements came in a speech he delivered at annual meeting of Municipalities and Environment Committee in Qamishlo Canton, which was held to evaluate the works during 2021, and to discuss work plans for the next year, in Aram Tigran Center for Culture and Art in Rmelan.

250 delegates attended the meeting from the People's Municipalities in Qamishlo Canton, in addition to the participation of representatives of Autonomous Administration institutions.

The meeting began with a minute of silence, then co-chair of Qamishlo Canton Council, Afram Ishaq, delivered a welcoming speech, after that he talked about the ways to resolve Syrian crisis, saying: "Autonomous Administration areas of north and east Syria have a political force that represents them, and the meetings that are held without them in the discussions of the ways to resolve Syrian crisis will undoubtedly fail, because the main point in resolving the crisis lies in Syrian dialogue, not Astana or Geneva".

He indicated to some forces and parties attempts to exploit the worsening economic situation by closing the crossings, and continued, "We are experiencing an economic crisis in Syria in general, and today some forces and parties are exploiting this issue, to further aggravate the economic situation in NES, as Russia's position refuses to open Tal Kochar crossing, and KDP closed Semalka and Al-Walid crossings.

The annual meeting continues with reading and discussing the annual report, and they will conclude the meeting with a number of decisions.
