Turkish' occupation state court sentenced the former co-chair of Dersim municipalty, Nour Hayat Altun, to 10 years in prison, on charges of "belonging to the organization".

The trial session of Nour Hayat Altun, who was elected by Democratic and Peace Party (BDP), but she resigned, in front of Arzrum Regional Court of Justice, according to Firat News Agency.

Nour Hayat Altun participated in the hearing session through audio-visual communication system from Kandera Prison No. 1 of type (F), and lawyers Rehan Yaltshindax, Mesoud Bshtash and Barish Yildirim attended the session.

Alton stated that the charge against her is a case of revenge

The court upheld the verdict and sentenced Nour Hayat Alton to 10 years in prison for "belonging to the organization".

The former co-chair of Dersim municipality, Nour Hayat Altun, who is detained in Kandera prison in Kojayli, had joined last year in the hunger strike campaign against the isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali.
